Waste heat recovery of the hydrogen–water mixture from high‐temperature water electrolysis by cascade heat pump for steam generation

Waste heat recovery is common in high-temperature water electrolysis production, but the latent from hydrogen–water mixture not fully utilized, and electric heater to generate steam consumes much energy. In this research, a cascade pump proposed recover products steam. The can save as 65% energy compared with single heater. Although some cases, enough sufficient steam, it still 46.1% of Also, research emphasizes significant influence hydrogen proportion products. Compared 80% proportion, 50% 1.67 MW just vaporization process for 10 electrolyzer. payback period 3.43 years, which makes worth investing.
